Graphic Content: Original Comic Book Storytelling From The UH Graphic Novel Seminar 2010-2
Featuring reproductions of comics by Jill Hogno with Ashley Murray, erica ciesielski chaikin, shane patrick boyle, Whitney Mower with Jared Snow, Andy Dimond with Cristina Tortarolo, Ashleigh Eisinger, Ted Closson, James Roberts with Mike Cavallaro, Brandon White with Dean Haspiel, Jonathan Niles-Gill with Joe Infurnari, and Chuck Ivy created for the 2010 and 2011 Graphic Novel Seminars at the University of Houston.
The graphic novel seminar is taught by Mat Johnson. Students in the class read and discus graphic novels, write scripts, create a finished illustrated work (either alone or in collaboration) and learn about the comics business.
Mat Johnson is author of 3 graphic novels (Hellblazer: Papa Midnight, Incognegro and Dark Rain), 3 prose novels (Drop, Hunting in Harlem and Pym) and a nonfiction book (The Great Negro Plot).
Current students and their collaborators, Johnson, and some past students will be in attendance to discuss their work.
